The Group starts with the company Porta XXI, dedicated to the production of aluminum panels. With the Portaluxe seal, these panels are distinguished by their quality and the innovation of their designs. Currently, Portaluxe panels comprise the vast majority of entry doors marketed in Portugal.
The hegemony of the Portuguese market has become vital for our expansion. 2003 marks the turning point in the search for the conquest of the European market. France, Belgium and Holland become part of the internationalization process.
Glassware and GreenDoor
This year is marked by the inauguration of our first glassworks. Decorative stained-glass windows are now produced in-house, with a high level of craftmanship, allowing to expand the design options. The year ends with our entry into the German market, with the GreenDoor brand.
With the creation, in 2007, of the Gardengate brand, the focus was on diversifying the product range and producing finished products. The sale of entrance doors and aluminum gates has boosted European consolidation.
Our focus on innovation and design, led us to the creation of a Development Center. It is in this pole that new products and new models are developed, always looking for better performance and differentiating aesthetics. This year, the first unit entirely dedicated to the production of aluminum entry doors is also created.
Inauguration of 3 new plants adapted to different scales of production, thus consolidating the European leadership in the manufacture and marketing of Aluminum Gates.
Launch of the production of aluminum fences and palisades. Production of the first car cover model. Expansion of the productive capacity of the glassworks and inauguration of the 2nd lacquering unit.
The Gardengate, Portaluxe, GreenDoor, Friday Courage brands are now part of a single group: Gardengate Group. This year, the milestone reached 1 million gates produced since the creation of the Gardengate brand.
Re-Branding and the Digital Age
Re-branding strategy, and development of online ordering and configuration tools. A new corporate communication is implemented and the slogan “With open Doors” is created, representing the opening to new customers and markets.
